434 Kings Crown crest

Update....
- Changed photo on front page and will hopefully do this often, every one or two months.
- Finished many of the captions for photos added in past week.
- McQueen Crew 52 added to "Crash Site" section.

434%20crest.jpgOver the past week I had inquiries about the 434 Kings Crown crest which is represented with the Bluenose Schooner in 434 "Squadron History" section. Currently on this site I do not have a good quality image, otherwise it would be posted...
I also have been approached by Darrin Kingston, his uncle was part of McQueen crew. Darrin is interested in having "434 King's Crown" badges custom made, the minimum required is 16 to have an order manufactured. Should anyone be interested please "contact me".

Till next week, take care... Alan

New section - `Crash Sites` 22 Jan. 2008

Created a new section "Crash Sites", containing photos and details pertaining to 434 crews which crashed between 1943 - 1945. I have had submission of photos and inquiries on crash locations; should anyone be able to provide further info on what I have posted or wish to submit photos on a crash site I would be more then happy to create a page for that crash/crew. So far crash sites for crews 15, 36, and 44 are posted, and if you go into P/O C.V. Soderstrom section crew 88 has crash site details.
Lytle%20crash%20aircraft1.jpgPictured left is crash site of Crew 15 - P/O Lytle and crew, I would like to thank Barry Dickieson for photos from "Harry's Story" website
Crew 36 - S/Ldr L. Linnell and crew, Thanks to Bob Linnell for photo's and details. Bob produced a documentary "Last Flight to Berlin"  a non fiction account of his father's last flight, interview with nightfighter pilot, and a return to crash site 60 years later. A must see.
Crew 44 - R.H. Smith and crew, Thanks to Dirk Hartmann, he contacted website with photo's and details on this crash site. Subsequently I searched for relatives and found a nephew of crew member Michael Vitch. Hopefully his photo(s) will be arriving shortley.

I will be going through the "A/C Serial Numbers" again for another up date. I think this will be a 3rd update for a/c serial's. Both of the mentioned categories are very time consuming, so if I have missed an email or posting a photo please let me know...

A Big Thanks to Leslie Green and F/O Ken McMillan for submitting a number of photo's this past week. Crew # 28 and #161 photos, also photo's for a number of galleries posted and still more to be cropped and added to site.
To the left is a photo of a daylight raid to Hamburg in April 1945 taken by a crew member of #161, the black specks are actually flak bursts, and the tail end of a Lanc belonging to this crew.
I will be adding "Honour and Awards" descriptions to crew members photos already in the galleries.
I forgot to mention; When signing the guest book if you do not leave your email then I cannot contact you, however you can also send me a personal email by using the "contact me" This website can only improve by submission of photos/info from the people who browse it.
