Air Marshall Harris , who comes from the Maritimes, spoke to the officers and men of the &amp;ldquo;Bluenose&amp;rdquo; squadron and told of the high hopes that were held for the newly named outfit. Flewelling&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Talking things over with the &amp;ldquo;Wingco&amp;rdquo; is Flight Lieutenant Murray Flewelling (Left) of Calgary , Alta . As recently as last November he was a Sgt/Pilot, but in four months has been commissioned, promoted to Flight Lieutenant and appointed to the post of Deputy Flight Commander.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Now 25 F/L Flewelling has more than half completed his operational tour and is one of the &amp;ldquo;originals&amp;rdquo; of 434 Squadron. To the right of Murray is Wing Commander Chris Bartlett , D.F.C., the squadron commander is from Fort Q&amp;rsquo;Appelle, Sask.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Pilot F/L M. Flewelling and his crew encountered flak on 28/29 Jan. 1944 on an "Op" to Berlin P/O J. Demers was killed.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;W/C C. Bartlett and his crew "FTR" from Arras France on 13 June 1944. Six were killed and F/Lt. D.H. Crew #52 ditched their Halifax in the North Sea while returning home from a raid on Leipzig. Rescued by the navy, they were given dry rubber boots, old flannel slacks and sweaters. After three days they made it back to Tholthorpe, rumpled and weary, but not looking much like the "pirates, thugs, and brigands" that Lord Haw Haw described as belonging to the squadron.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;On 16/17 June 1944 this crew (minus F/O L.
