Twenty crews made up the original squadron, fifteen would have a loss of life or "F.T.R". Air Crews of 434 Squadron, the photo's are in assigned numerical order (see "Personnel/Crew Downloads). To maintain a squadron of 20 heavy bomber's a staggering 178 aircrew would serve in 434 squadron from June 13th/1943 to June 9th/1945. Seventy-four of these aircrews would have grievious encounters with German night-fighters or flak cannons, the majority did not return to their home aerodrome. This resulted with a notation entered in the Operational Record Book "Failed To Return", the handful which did return had fatally wounded airmen on board.
